Artemis Cave Suites & Spa Review

Adults-Only Cave Hotel in Göreme, Cappadocia

Cappadocia is one of those places where the hotel becomes part of the destination itself. You are not just booking somewhere to sleep; you are choosing where you will wake before sunrise, where you might watch hot air balloons drift across the valleys, and where you will return after dusty days exploring cave churches, viewpoints, underground cities and winding village streets.

When we planned our Cappadocia stay, I knew I wanted a cave hotel that felt atmospheric without being impractical. After comparing hotels in Göreme and Uçhisar, looking through terraces, views, room styles, reviews and locations, we chose Artemis Cave Suites & Spa in Göreme. It gave us exactly the kind of Cappadocia stay I had pictured: a cave-hotel atmosphere, an adults-only feel, beautiful outdoor sitting areas, easy access to town and elevated views over the Göreme skyline.

This is my full review of Artemis Cave Suites & Spa, including what I loved, what to know before booking, who it suits and whether I would stay again.

How to Get to Artemis Cave Suites & Spa

Getting to Cappadocia felt much easier than I expected, especially once I planned it properly in advance. We flew with Turkish Airlines into Nevşehir Kapadokya Airport, which is one of the closest airports to Göreme. From there, we arranged a car pick-up directly through the hotel, which I would absolutely recommend for a smooth arrival.

The transfer cost us around €25 per person, and it was worth it after the flight because everything was organised, comfortable and stress-free. The driver was waiting at the airport, and we were taken straight to the hotel without needing to figure out taxis or shared transport after landing. The drive itself takes roughly 40 minutes, depending on traffic and exact drop-off points, and it is actually quite a nice introduction to the region as the landscape slowly changes into the Cappadocia terrain.

If I were doing this again, I would still choose the same route. Flying into Nevşehir and pre-booking a hotel transfer felt like the easiest and most seamless way to arrive, especially for a first trip when you just want everything to work without overthinking it.

Location: Elevated Views With Easy Access to Göreme Town

The location was one of the biggest reasons Artemis worked so well for us. The hotel is elevated, which means you get beautiful views over Göreme, especially from the superior room and outdoor sitting areas. It made the mornings and evenings feel more scenic, and I loved that feeling of staying above the town rather than just being somewhere flat and ordinary.

At the same time, the hotel still has easy access to Göreme town. You can walk down to restaurants, shops and tour meeting points, which made the stay practical without losing atmosphere. That balance was ideal for us because I wanted views and a cave-hotel feeling, but I did not want the hotel to feel isolated.

The only thing to be mindful of is that because the hotel is elevated, there are steps. This was not an issue for us, but it is worth knowing if you have mobility concerns or heavy luggage. The staff were very helpful with bags, car bookings and activity bookings, which made the elevated layout much easier.

First Impressions: Warm, Scenic and Full of Character

The first thing I wanted from Cappadocia was atmosphere, and Artemis gave us that immediately. It did not feel like a generic hotel placed in Göreme; it felt like a stay shaped by Cappadocia itself, with stone textures, cave-style interiors, terraces and that warm, earthy feeling you hope for when booking a cave hotel.

One of the loveliest things about the hotel was that it had two small dogs roaming around the property. They were sweet, smart and full of personality, and they somehow made the whole place feel more alive without ever bothering anyone. They simply belonged there, wandering around the terraces and outdoor spaces, adding a soft, lived-in charm that made the hotel feel even more special.

For me, that is the difference between a hotel that only looks beautiful online and a hotel that stays in your memory. Artemis had atmosphere, but it also had those little details that made it feel warm and real.

The Rooms: Cave Style With Göreme Skyline Views

The rooms are one of the main reasons to stay here. Artemis offers cave and stone-style rooms, so you still get that Cappadocia feeling without feeling like you are sacrificing comfort for aesthetics. We stayed in a superior room, and one of the things I loved was being able to see the Göreme skyline. Because the hotel is elevated, the view felt open and cinematic, especially in the morning and evening when the light softened over the town.

In Cappadocia, I would always pay close attention to the room category before booking. The exact room matters more than people realise because a standard room, cave room, suite or view room can create a very different experience. I would read recent reviews, check photos carefully and choose the room type that matches the trip you want.

Outdoor Sitting Areas and Balloon Mornings

One of the most beautiful parts of Artemis was the outdoor sitting area. The hotel has these lovely spaces where you can sit, slow down and look out over Göreme, which made the stay feel much more connected to the landscape. I saw the hot air balloons from the hotel one morning, and I also did a hot air balloon ride on another morning, so the whole experience felt beautifully complete. There is something very special about waking up in a cave hotel, stepping outside while the sky is still soft, and watching balloons rise over Cappadocia before the day has properly begun.

The evenings were just as lovely. After being out all day exploring, coming back to the hotel and sitting outside with views over Göreme made the whole stay feel slow, romantic and atmospheric.

Food at the Hotel

Breakfast at Artemis was really, really good, and it became one of the parts of the stay I genuinely looked forward to. The breakfast area itself was inside a cave, which made the whole morning feel so much more special than a standard hotel breakfast room. Because I am vegetarian and cannot have gluten, breakfast is always something I pay attention to when we travel. At Artemis, I found breakfast enjoyable, generous and atmospheric, with enough options for me to still feel satisfied. As always in Turkey, I stayed mindful of bread, pastries and cross-contamination, but the overall breakfast experience was one of the strongest parts of the stay for me.

There were also cats around the property, which made the mornings even sweeter. My husband fed the cats, and after breakfast one morning, one of them came and sat on my lap and cuddled with me. It was such a small moment, but it is exactly the kind of thing I remember from a trip. The hotel had this gentle rhythm in the mornings: breakfast inside the cave, animals around the property, balloons in the sky and Göreme slowly waking up below.

Service: Helpful With Bags, Cars and Activities

Good service matters a lot in Cappadocia because most travellers need help with transfers, balloon rides, tours, car bookings and early morning logistics. Artemis was helpful with the practical side of the trip, including bags, car bookings and activity bookings.

This made a real difference because Cappadocia is not the kind of place where I would want to organise everything last minute. Between airport transfers, hot air balloon rides, tours and getting around the region, having hotel staff who can help makes the stay feel much smoother.

The staff support was also important because of the hotel’s elevated layout. There are steps around the property, but the staff helped with bags, which made arrival and departure much easier.

Spa and Hammam

The spa element is another reason Artemis works well as a Cappadocia hotel. Days in Cappadocia can be surprisingly tiring because you may be up before sunrise for balloons, then out again for valley walks, tours, viewpoints or underground city visits.

Having spa and hammam-style facilities at the hotel makes the stay feel more complete. For me, this is the kind of feature that elevates a Cappadocia stay because you are not just coming back somewhere to sleep; you are coming back somewhere that lets you slow down.

Who Artemis Cave Suites & Spa Is Best For

Artemis Cave Suites & Spa is best for couples, first-time Cappadocia visitors and travellers who want a cave-hotel experience in Göreme without being too far from restaurants and tours. It is also a strong choice if you want an adults-only atmosphere rather than a large resort-style hotel.

I would especially recommend it if your Cappadocia trip is two to three nights and you want your hotel to feel like part of the experience. For a short stay, convenience matters, and Göreme makes everything easier.

Who It May Not Suit

I would not choose Artemis if you want a large international 5-star resort, a very modern hotel style or the quieter, more elevated feel of Uçhisar. Göreme is beautiful and practical, but it is also busier and more tourist-focused than Uçhisar. It may also not suit travellers who struggle with steps, because the hotel is elevated. The staff were helpful with bags, but the layout is still something to keep in mind before booking.

If your dream is a more secluded, ultra-luxury Cappadocia stay, you may prefer hotels like Museum Hotel or Argos in Cappadocia. But for a first trip where you want atmosphere, convenience, cave-hotel charm and easy access to Göreme town, Artemis makes a lot of sense.

My Honest Verdict: Would I Stay Again?

Yes, I would stay again, especially for a first Cappadocia trip. Artemis Cave Suites & Spa gave us the exact feeling I wanted from Göreme: romantic, atmospheric, scenic and practical, but also warm in a way that felt very personal.

It was the cave breakfast room, the outdoor sitting areas, the elevated views, the balloons in the morning, the little dogs roaming around the property and the cats that made the stay feel alive. Those are the details that made Artemis more than just a cave hotel for us.

For me, Artemis is a beautiful choice if you want the classic Cappadocia cave-hotel experience with comfort, character and easy access to Göreme town.
